What would you highlight about Uhome Akihabara Hotel
Overall very pleasant stay although quite a distance walk from train station.
The property was comfy to stay and clean with quiet environment/surrounding. Staff also very friendly.
Other than few local mini market, it was lack of food stall nearby the property. Culinaries are close by the train station within 10 minutes walk.

What would you highlight about Uhome Akihabara Hotel
Great first experience to Japan!
It was a cute little place near Akihabara. It was actually a good size for Tokyo, and even better the rooms have closable dividers for privacy. There is plenty of English around so it's easy to figure out what's going on. There is a lot nearby - we went by the 7-11 which has great convenient breakfast food, bottled water (important on excursions through the city), and an international ATM almost every day. The location itself is pretty quiet and away from the main streets, but there are interesting things nearby not much farther away. The beds were quite different from the ones I'm used to in the US but very comfortable and even the kids liked sleeping on the futons on the floor. Akihabara train station is a bit of a walk but it's pretty central so it's easy to get to other places from there (most of them on the JR rail pass as well). I was a bit worried about checkin - our plane was supposed to arrive shortly after 7pm, and they do have staff onsite but they are only there until 9pm - with luggage, immigration, a couple of train rides, and a walk from the station we didn't get there until about 9:20. No problem, the key was right where they said it was, and we got in with no problems. They were in good communication during the trip too.
Elevator is a bit small, and there are no stairs available - to get 6 of us to our 5th floor room + 4 large suitcases, it took 3 separate trips up the elevator (and we also went out 3 and 3 in the morning), but we didn't use it very often as we were usually out exploring. It was maybe 10-15 minutes from the Akihabara train station, which is a pretty good walk - it didn't sound long, but after doing it a lot we felt it :) (however, there is a subway station closer - my wife would not do the subway, but iwamotocho is closer, probably only 5 minutes away).

What would you highlight about Uhome Akihabara Hotel
Book with low expectations
1) Nice kitchen. 2) Whole floor. 3) Access to floor via private key in the elevator. 4) Two shipping companies nearby. 5) Good location overall, close from Akihabara Station, and two grocery stores.
1) There was rotten crab on the fridge when we checked-in, it needed some effort for us to clean as to not leave any smell behind. 2) On demand cleaning is bad and unpredictable, they ask you for an appropriate time, refuse because the time doesn't suit the cleaning staff, agree anyway, they don't even satisfy the time they specified and might not come at all at that day, and when they do, don't expect a proper job, be happy of they empty the trash bins and refresh the towels, don't expect anything else. 3) Beds where so stiff, sometimes we contemplate sleeping on the floor, futon beds are a little better, but horrible too. 4) The elevator was tiny, even for Japan standards, we, a family of five with two trollies, enter the elevator in two batches, this is further complicated with the fact that you can only access your floor via a secure key, which is a good thing on itself, but bad in that situation, imagine how we use the key in two batches. 5) Paper windows looks great, but have a risk of tearing if you have children. 6) Staff could be more courteous, but is highly incompetent, we wish they had a "Trainee" tag on them to lower our expectations, although their English was good, some of them at least, but so much miscommunication was experienced with things especially related to cleaning, and don't rely on them to ship baggage to another accommodation if you plan for a multi-city trip, thankfully there are two shipping companies nearby.

What would you highlight about Uhome Akihabara Hotel
Perfect location in Tokyo
We really enjoyed our stay in the Uhome. Perfect location just 5 minutes walk from Akihabara station. A lot of shops, cafes, restaurants in the area. There is everything you may need during your stay in the room including electric cooker, fridge, clean bath with shampoo and soap. There was double bed and two futons in our room. Also there was a small balcony. Lady at the reception was very kind and helpful. She even booked a taxi for us to Narita Airport for our departure date because we do not speak Japanese.
Hotel provides only one key for an apartment but it is not a big problem.
